Alphonse Abanda is the visionary Founder and CEO of ABA Guru Consulting (AGC), bringing over three decades of unparalleled expertise in organizational development, public health, strategic communication, health systems strengthening (HSS), and leadership across Africa.
Alphonse established AGC from a deep-seated conviction that organizational performance hinges not just on passion, but on strategic institutional capacity, effective communication, and adaptive systems thinking. Throughout his career, he has advanced the way organizations and health systems engage stakeholders, convey strategic priorities, and drive evidence-based action at community, national and international levels.
His profound experience includes pivotal roles in Public Health and Organizational Development, notably with the CBCHS where, he championed initiatives that strengthened local capacity, community engagement, strategic communication, and accountability mechanisms—revitalizing dialogue structures and empowering communities to actively participate in and own their health systems.
Alphonse’s work in strategic communication encompasses advocacy, stakeholder engagement, public relations, and knowledge sharing that amplifies organizational impact and aligns diverse partners around a shared vision. His ability to shape narratives, facilitate collaborative dialogue, and translate complex health strategies into actionable roadmaps has strengthened institutional resilience and responsiveness across sectors.
Moreover, Alphonse has been instrumental in health systems strengthening (HSS)—driving initiatives that improve system performance, foster cross-sector partnerships, and build sustainable structures for quality service delivery. His contributions include laying the groundwork for national alliances (e.g., a National NCD Alliance), strategic involvement in the CDC/PEPFAR Project Zone I, and designing programs that integrate capacity building with measurable system outcomes. These efforts reinforce AGC’s commitment to sustainable, equitable health systems aligned with best practices in governance, financing, service delivery, workforce development and monitoring.
